Of course, by referring to the same dictionary, we can see the definition for word "Tropical" which is: "( tr¼p“¹-k…l) adj. Abbr. trop. 1. Of, occurring in, or characteristic of the Tropics. 2. Hot and humid; torrid. n. 1. A tropical plant. trop “i·cal·ly adv." So if Tropic means hot and humid weather occurring in the Tropics so Torrid is also a characteristic of Torrid Zone which happens to be or cover the same geographical latitudes.

Good argument Mr Niazi

I just looked the word up in Longman and Cambridge. Unlike Oxford, they have defined the word as "very/extremely hot" without mentioning "dry", so, you've got a point here.

To be on the safe side then, I think we'd better use the other alternatives to translate the word "شرجی". What do you think?
