Hi Ali. Personally I think "disqualify" in your example means:

محروم شدن / یا منع شدن / یا از رقابتها کنار گذاشته شدن

سه ورزشکار به دلیل دوپینگ از شرکت در مسابقات قهرمانی محروم شدند/ منع شدند/ (یا از مسابقات قهرمانی کنار گذاشته شدند)

I used to be a basketball referee as well as being the player. If a player commits a severe rule-breaking action that threatens the health of other players in the field, he is so called disqualified and has no way but leaving the court. In this situation we say that the player has been disqualified and is no more allowed to take part in the ongoing game.

Well, in this case you're right. I don't know much about basketball. However i had a search in wikipedia and found this page:

Please read the parts under the titles of: Basketball and Association football. I think disqualification (in this particular sense i.e. making a player leave the court) is a technical word just in basketball. But in Association football (soccer) the term is "sending off". Please let me know what you think. Thx
