Hey buddies...

The word "grind" as a noun can be used to mean a student who never does anything except study. It's an American informal word and its British equivalent is "swot". But the problem is that when I search the web or dictionaries for examples, there is nothing to find. Does it mean that it is not a common word?

This is an informal word in American.

Other examples:

She is an insufferably sensible young woman a grind at school, hiding behind thick glasses and inside bulky cardigans.
