She's been sending signals a lot.

Ali I couldn't find any dictionary references, but it is widely used by native speakers. I just copied and pasted some of those sentences here:

 

I've been friends with this girl for a while and it seems like lately she's been sending signals that we should hook up.

only recently she's been sending signals of wanting to get back together.

Now, I could be imagining things but i think she's been sending signals to me? Like just the fact shes been trying to contact me more.

She'd say "I would love it if someone sang this song. I feel like she's sending signals but I'm just not sure anymore because she still calls me "brother"
